5/28/2010: NH CVRC Hillsboro Breakfast
Four candidates or their representatives came to our breakfast this morning. The breakfast was hosted by Walt and Bonnie Morse. US Senatorial candidate Dennis Lamire, from Newport NH, discussed his candidacy and positions. They included improving aid to America's veterans, bringing jobs back to America, shoring up the dollar, instituting a flat income tax (10 -15%) with certain deductions, and shoring up our borders. Brett Bosse, representing John Stevens, candidate for Governor, indicated the candidate will host an event at a Fisher Cat's baseball game on June 6, 2010, He also indicated good momentum was developing for the candidate and that a number of coalitions were forming to get Steven's elected. Jacob Avery representing Andy Sanborn indicated the candidate would be in the Balloon Fest Parade. Jim Adams, candidate for Governors Council discussed his positions on improving government in NH.
The group discussed the Balloon Fest Parade. We have a number of Republican candidates joining us in the Parade. We talked about the strangling permit process in the State and illegal immigration on the national front.
This is a good meeting to attend to get the direct word from the candidates. Next meetings are June 3, 2010 in Henniker and June 11, in Hillsboro.
5/17/2010: NH CVRC Monthly Meeting
A well attended meeting at the Deering Town Hall heard two Republican Candidates discuss their positions. Joe Dupont chaired the meeting and introduced Jack Kimball, a Republican candidate for Governor. Jack said the budget process is a mess. Democrats focus on programs and disregard the revenue projections. He indicated the Democrats forced increased spending during the last two State budget cycles by 27%. At least 50 taxes were imposed or increased. Jack indicated NH was last in state services, the Democrats were going after small businesses through unconstitutional taxes (the LLC tax) and that there is $67 billion in unfunded pension mandates.
Jack indicated when elected there would be sweeping changes. He is for smaller government, tax cuts, reduced spending, more local control for education. He is pro life and against gambling.
Following a question and answer session, Joe introduced Bill Binnie. Bill is running for the US Senate. He indicated he is a son of Irish immigrants, received two degrees from Harvard, and that one of his reasons for his call to public service was the adverse effects, unemployment, this recession is having on Americans. Bill said this Democratic federal government is spending us into oblivion. He indicated America has a problem with spending for foreign aid. He would champion lowering taxes, reduce the excessive regulations of big government, and cut the costs of the federal government.
Bill indicated the veterans in NH are losing because we are the only State that does not have a full service veterans hospital. Complicated cases either go to Boston or White River for treatment. He said he would work to bring a full service hospital to NH. There was a question and answer session following Bill's presentation.
5/15/2010: Hillsborough Diner Breakfast

Jim Adams, candidate for District 2 Executive Council joined us and discussed his reasons for running for the Council seat. Dan Auger and Linda Tomlinson, representing the Kelly Ayotte campaign answered questions about the candidate's positions.
Discussions by members focused on topics of interest and the Balloon Fest parade on July 11, 2010. The NH CVRC will have a float in the parade and we will invite the Republican candidates to participate in the parade. We need volunteers to decorate the float and march in the parade. Join us for the fun.
Remember the Hillsborough breakfast is every other week.

Several members of CVRC attended the Public Hearing yesterday regarding Amendment to SB-455-FN, relative to the federal health care reform bill. It was stated by the committee that New Hampshire was not going to challenge the Health Care Bill signed into Law by President Obama. I would strongly advise that you contact our Attorney General Michael A. Delaney at 603-271-3658 and let him know that you oppose the Bill and would support an effort to repeal this Unconstitutional Health Care Law. The amendment would give an unelected official the right to make decisions for our Health Care basically creating a "Health Care Czar" in New Hampshire.

3:6:2010 Governor Lynch decides to support the repeal of the LLC Tax
I received a call on Friday from Brian "Bulldog" Tilton of 107.7 the Pulse and he sounded a bit excited. He gave me the great news that we are a step closer to having the LLC Tax repealed because Governor Lynch is in favor of repealing it. Do you think it has anything to do with the efforts that all of us in NH have made to STOP it or could it be that he wants to get reelected ? Congratulations to all of you who have spent your time, energy and money to protect our LLC owners. This is what can happen when Republicans, Undeclared, Libertarians and others join forces for the good of all. "Bulldog" has been a big help in keeping this issue in the news and we owe him a big thanks. THANKS BULLDOG! Andy Sanborn and Laurie Sanborn's efforts have been monumental and let us not forget to support Andy in the future no matter what he decides to do. He has been a friend to all of us and has worked tirelessly to help the people of NH. Lastly, thanks to all the members and friends of CVRC who make us what we are; Patriots.
3:3:10 Non-Partisan LLC Tax Forum a big success!
Andy Sanborn owner of a small business in Concord "The Draft Restaurant" spoke to a group of 50 LLC owners and other interested guests regarding what is next for the LLC Tax and how it will effect them. He emphasized that "this is not the time to give up" and that we need to contact all LLC owners and ask them to write their State Reps, and Call the Governor's office. Let them know that this Law must be repealed or not only will more people be unemployed, but LLC's will go out of business. There are about 46,000 LLC's in the State of NH and it will have a tremendous impact on our economy if they allow this LLC Income Tax be implemented. Reporters from the Concord Monitor, The Messenger, a local paper, as well as Brian "Bulldog" Tilton from 107.7 the Pulse were in attendance to cover the event.

Mark your calendar for December 16, 2009 and promise yourself that you and others will take the time to testify at the only public hearing for the 5% Tax on LLC’s and Partnerships which the Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) plans to hold at 10:00am at their Concord office on 109 Pleasant Street.
This past June, when the NH Legislature was voting on HB 2, the state budget, some powerful Democrats decided to slip into the bill a 5 % interest and dividends tax on individuals for any distributions they receive from a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) and Partnerships, this is an Income Tax!
Because this was slipped into HB 2 at the eleventh hour, there was no opportunity for our taxpayers to testify on this issue. Now, the DRA has written the rules for this 5% tax on all LLC’s and Partnerships throughout New Hampshire.

Help Defeat the Employee Free Choice (Forced) Act
Labor Policies are Key to a Stabilized Economy
From: Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.
Source: www.ABCnhvt.org
Phil Kerpen, contributing Editor for National Review Online, offers a concise summary of factors that led to our current economic situation: “a federal reserve that kept interest rates too low while a bubble inflated; unscrupulous lenders; people who bought homes they couldn’t afford; wall street wizards who overleveraged and wrote derivatives they couldn’t pay; and a congress that set the policy goal of universal home ownership and recklessly grew Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to pursue that goal.” Further, Kerpen provides an important warning: “with so many real culprits out there, we cannot afford to blame the fake culprits of free trade, low taxes, and flexible labor markets. These are the fundamentals of a free economy. If we undermine them we risk repeating the mistakes that followed another financial panic and ushered in the Great Depression.” Specifically, concerning policies to allow for flexible labor markets, many economist have determined that President Franklin Roosevelt’s anti-competition, pro-union polices prolonged the Depression seven full years by creating artificially expensive products that discouraged consumer spending and artificially high wages that prevented employment from recovering. It is important today that we avoid these policy errors, not just for the sake of prosperity, but for our survival. The Great Depression, after all, did not end until the advent of World War II. Yet according to the independent Congressional Budget Office, the Pelosi bill he supports will cost in excess of $1 trillion over 10 years. Read more here...
